5 Reasons Why This Is the Holy Grail Of Foundaions!

I finally found the holy grail of foundation....MAKE UP FOR EVER recently came out with a new foundation  just as I was looking for something better than what I was using. It's called HD High Definition Foundation.  I was previously using a foundation that didn't break me out, but the colors were never right, and I was spending way too much time bronzing it up to make it match my ever-changing skin color. Finally, I decided, with literally thousands of options, I should be able to find something better...anything. I began test driving foundations for about a month, and much to my surprise, I actually didn't feel like I was settling when I tried this one. Here are the reasons why.

1. I didn't break out.

This was HUGE for me. I literally held my breath each morning after I started wearing it before I looked in the mirror. I was expecting a new blemish to pop up, and to my surprise, I didn't have any unwelcome visitors! Hooray!

2.  The color match was perfect.

I have A LOT of yellow in my skin and it was absolutely identical to the color on my neck, which had some self-tanner on it.

3. It felt light.

It's not the lightest weight foundation as it's medium to full coverage, but it didn't feel overly heavy like other foundations I've recently tried.

4.  It looked great in pictures.

Haven't you ever noticed how your foundation can have a very different camera look? I struggle with this all the time. In the past my foundation has always looked too pink or just plain off. This is the first time I've actually liked the way my skin looks on camera.

5. It goes on easily and blends well.

I use either a blending sponge or brush, but either way it goes on easily and quickly because it isn't too thick.

Fabulous Cocoa-Cinnamon Chews with White Chocolate Chips

I like to put a new twist on old favorites so yesterday I concocted these gems and I have to say, I was more than pleased with the result. They are simple, delish and of course.....fabulous!

Fabulous Cocoa-Cinnamon Chews with White Chocolate Chips

2 Sticks of salted room temp butter

2 Large eggs

1 Teaspoon of Corbin Sweet Potato Liquor or Vanilla (The Corbin Liquor is a "secret" ingredient that makes them extra yummy!)

1 1/2 Cups of granulated sugar

1 Cup of light brown sugar

2 Tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

1 Teaspoon of cinnamon

1 Teaspoon baking soda

1/2 Teaspoon of sea salt

2 1/2 Cups of flour

1 Cup of white chocolate chunks

Optional:

1/2 Cup of chopped pecans

1/2 Cup of shredded coconut

Mix wet ingredients in a large bowl then add sugars and coca powder. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Combine wet and dry ingredients until well mixed, then add chips.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

If my daughters had their way, I would add pecans and shredded coconut. However, they'd flip if I put nuts in the cookies...sigh...maybe once I ship them off to grandmas for a weekend I'll try it. No, wait, if they are at grandmas, I will NOT be cooking! I'll be sipping wine by a pool somewhere fabulous!

Tis The Season For Fireworks and Red Lips!

Red lips are sort of an everyday thing for me and with July 4th just around the corner I thought I'd share my top picks from stains to glosses....let the fireworks begin!

1. Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Always Red

This red is perfect during the summer with a shimmery fuchsia on top. During the holidays I like to add a darker shimmery gloss on top of this. I also like to layer this lippie with the Chanel I have listed below (#4).  It adds a bit of moisture and the colors compliment each other.

2. Sephora Lip Last in Color 19 Matte Red

I also like to use this as a base  the same way I do with #1. It makes a more long wearing combo than above and it won't bleed.

3. NARS Limited Edition Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Mysterious Red

I love the ease of this and the fact that it delivers a precise line.

4. Chanel Rouge Allure in Passion 104

I layer this color over darker colors and wear it alone...definitely my go to perfect red and the amount of moisture it delivers is perfect.

5. MAC Red

I have gone through multiple tubes of this, tried and true.
